Step 1 - Before You Start

Look at your court paperwork to make sure you have the following information:

Case Type
- Note: Unlawful detainer (eviction) cases are considered civil cases.
Case Number
- If you cannot find your case number, you may search for it online for a fee by going to Search for Case by Name
- For traffic citations, your case number is the ticket number. If you do not know your ticket number, you may Search for a Ticket with a Driver's License Number or Search for a Ticket with a Citation Number.
