Probate notes for matters on calendar are available on the Court’s website from the date they are posted (typically two weeks prior to the hearing date) until 60 days after the hearing. The "Matters To Clear" section of the Probate Notes informs the parties of additional documents that are necessary to support judicial consideration of the petition. Counsel or litigants must clear the items noted under the "Matters To Clear" section by filing supplemental or other documents by the third court day preceding the hearing date. If the Probate Notes are not timely cleared, the Court will continue the hearing, place the matter off calendar, deny the matter without prejudice or take other action it deems necessary. Emails may be sent to the Probate Attorney or Examiner who drafted your notes. The only valid purposes for sending such an email are to point out that a filed document has not been reflected in the probate notes (after allowing sufficient time for the filing to have entered the system and been seen) or to request a continuance of a hearing via the process described in a separate section of this page above. Emails should not be sent to advise that a supplement has been filed or to request legal advice. The Subject line of the email must include the hearing date and case number of your matter. An email is not a substitute for the filing of a supplement or other document required to clear probate notes. All litigants and bar members are encouraged to appear remotely at all hearings via audio or video through LACourtConnect. Parties, however, are not relieved of any duties to appear or to have certain individuals physically present at the hearing if required by any statute, rule, the Court or based on any prior court order. Register to appear remotely on the Court’s website at https://www.lacourt.org/LACC. |
