  • Jurors reporting to the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center may be sent to the Stanley Mosk Courthouse, the East Los Angeles Courthouse, the Metropolitan Courthouse, the Spring Street Courthouse, or the Hollywood Courthouse.
  • Security screening is enforced at all court locations. Please allow extra time to get through the line.

One-Trial Court

The Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center is on the "One-Trial" jury service term. Under the One-Trial term of service, prospective jurors are placed on call for a period of five (5) days. The prospective juror is required to call in to receive instructions on whether he or she must report for service. Once instructed to report to court, and if selected to serve on a jury, the service obligation is fulfilled upon the conclusion of deliberation, whether or not a verdict is reached. The service obligation is also fulfilled if not in jury selection or selected on a jury at the end of the day when required to report. Please be prepared to accept a trial when you appear for service. The average trial is 5-7 days.

As A Call-In Program Participant You Can Expect To

  • Call in for five days or until you have been asked to report. If you have not been asked to report after five days, your service is complete.
  • Appear as instructed once your group number is selected.
  • Only be paid for days you actually appear as instructed (after your first day of service).

Absences

To report an absence, please call the courtroom you have been assigned to directly. The courtroom telephone numbers are listed on the “Juror Orientation Information Sheet” that you were given on the first day.

Jury Parking

    • YOU MUST BRING YOUR JURY SUMMONS OR JUROR BADGE TO ACCESS FREE PARKING
  • Parking is provided at the Disney Concert Hall Garage located at: 111 S. Grand Avenue, (Corner of Grand and 2nd Street).
  • Entrances are located at 2nd Street just West of Grand, and at Lower Grand Avenue just North of Gen.T. Kosciuszko Way.
  • Jurors must bring in their summons or badge to enter and exit the parking structure. Jurors must scan their summons/badge bar code at the bar code scanner located at the parking entrance or exit. Jurors will only be allowed to enter and park for free if they have a summons or badge, and their group number has been called in to report for service.
  • Note: Maximum overhead clearance for the facility is 8'2". Any vehicle exceeding the maximum overhead clearance will be directed by an attendant to a suitable parking area.
  • Walking Directions to Courthouse: Please walk East on 1st Street approximately 3 blocks to Broadway. Turn left on Broadway then North 1 block. The courthouse is on the east side of Broadway. Enter through the rear of the building.
  • Shuttle Directions: On the NE corner of Grand Ave. and 1st Street, the city offers the "B" route DASH shuttle bus for free, which travels north and drops passengers off in front of the Criminal Justice Center.

Juror Transportation Programs

    The Los Angeles Superior Court’s Juror Services Division offers two programs where jurors can receive an EPass or Metrolink passes in lieu of mileage reimbursement. You can select Employer Pass (EPass) program or JuryLink Program (provided by Metrolink) to learn more about these programs.

All questions concerning jury service should be directed to the jury personnel at the Criminal Justice Center, Monday through Friday 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
